* Singapore - Asia-Europe Spot Rates Slide for Sixth Week

Singapore -The Journal of Commerce Online, Peter T. Leach -Jun 14, 2012: -- World Container Index dropped by 0.1 percent to $3,225 per laden 40-foot container... Average spot rates on the Asia-Europe trade slipped slightly this week for the sixth week in a row, reflecting the growing amount of new capacity that is being deployed and of idled vessels that are returning to the trade... The World Container Index of spot prices in the trade from Shanghai to Rotterdam, which is compiled by Drewry and the Cleartrade Exchange in Singapore, dropped by $4 (-0.1 percent) this week to $3,225 per laden 40-foot container from $3,229 on June 7...


* Illinois / USA - Logistics Costs Rose 6.6 Percent Last Year 

Lombard,ILL,USA -The Journal of Commerce Online, by Joseph Bonney -Jun 13, 2012: -- Report said costs totaled $1.28 trillion last year, still below pre-recession high of $1.39 trillion in 2007... U.S. business logistics costs rose 6.6 percent last year as companies spent more on transportation and inventory in a gradually recovering economy, according to the 23rd annual State of Logistics report... The report, sponsored by the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals and Penske Logistics, said logistics costs totaled $1.28 trillion last year. That was up $79 billion from 2010 but still below the peak of $1.39 trillion in 2007... Logistics spending as a percentage of GDP rose to 8.5 percent from 8.3 percent in 2010 and 7.9 percent in 2009, when the recession slowed shipments...
