Women Drivers * Isle of Man - Let loose in large vehicles
Isle of Man,UK -The Isle of Man Today -8 May 2008: -- Isle of Man women raised more than £19,000 for charity by spending their Bank Holiday behind the wheels of heavy-duty vehicles... Not wanting to miss out on such a unique opportunity, Isle of Man Newspapers reporters Jackie Turley and Lottie Ray jumped at the chance to join in the Ladies' Vehicle Challenge... As their small group moved from vehicle to vehicle, the pair waited for their turn on each with both excitement and trepidation... They were delighted to have shown both skill and control throughout the day's tasks... The challenges included offloading and reloading a skip, steering a dumper truck around cones, reverse parking an articulated lorry and driving a fire engine — with sirens blaring — really, really fast...
