-- Many area Ford Motor Co., General Motors Co. and FCA US, manufacturing plants canceled operations for part of Monday because many employees weren’t able get to work because of the snowstorm... All area plants for FCA US, formerly Chrysler Group, have canceled first shifts because of high absenteeism. FCA US spokeswoman Jodi Tinson said the company expects second shifts to report as scheduled... All of Ford Motor Co.’s production facilities were back up and running early Monday afternoon, but earlier that morning Romeo Engine Plant canceled its second shift and Michigan Assembly Plant canceled its first shift, spokeswoman Kristina Adamski said. In addition, Ford’s Dearborn Truck Plant was down for the plant’s. A Crew and other plants were running, but seeing higher-than-normal absenteeism... Four area GM plants canceled first shifts Monday, said GM spokeswman Bill Grotz... Last night’s snowstorm made getting to work difficult for a number of GM plant employees across the Midwest.
