(Photo by Elizabeth Conley / The Detroit News: Imported to Detroit  CEO Sergio Marchionne has turned Chrysler into a powerhouse once again)
Detroit,MICH,USA -The Detroit News, by Bryce G. Hoffman -June 7, 2012: -- Critics doubted whether the Chrysler-Fiat marriage would work, but after three years CEO Sergio Marchionne has turned Chrysler into a powerhouse once again... On June 10, 2009, Chrysler Group LLC emerged from a government-sponsored bankruptcy wedded to Italian automaker Fiat SpA... Adam Jonas, an auto analyst with Morgan Stanley in London, in 2009 summed "Fiat-Chrysler probably won't make anything significant together" ... Marchionne paid back the American taxpayer years ahead of schedule, returned Chrysler to profitability, reopened shuttered factories and again gave people a reason to believe in Detroit. Instead of dragging Fiat down, as many analysts feared, Chrysler is now propping up its Italian parent as Fiat struggles to weather the worst economic storm to hit Europe since World War II...

* Japan: MX-5 Spyder, with its style, power, it could be the basis for the Miata/Alfa
Fuchu,Aki,Hiroshima,Japan -The Detroit News, by Larry Edsall -June 7, 2012: -- Recent news that Mazda and Fiat's Alfa Romeo division will work together on the next-generation Miata, producing not only that car but a version for Alfa, made me think immediately of a couple things... Italians are known for designing and engineering cars that are fun to drive, but how much more fun can a car be than the Miata has been all along?... The goal, says Mazda, is to be clean and green, fuel-efficient but also very powerful. That concept works on the road just as well as the racetrack... Maybe this next-gen Miata/Alfa really will be even more fun to drive...

Atlanta,GA,USA -AP/Associated Press, by KATE BRUMBACK -6 June 2012: -- Lawyers for U.S. automobile dealers in five states said they've filed a lawsuit accusing an Indian truck manufacturer and its American counterpart of fraud, misrepresentation and conspiracy... The lawyers said the suit was filed Monday in federal court in Atlanta against Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. and Mahindra USA Inc. on behalf of dealerships in New Hampshire, Florida, California, New Jersey and Washington. Mumbai,Maharashtra,India -Mahindra (PR) -6 June 2012: -- Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. and Mahindra USA Inc. said, "We cannot comment on this as the matter is in the courts but we would like to state that some dealers had earlier filed a suit against Mahindra and Global Vehicles in the US District Court in Missouri.
