* Michigan - Ford has put a new face on its F-150 pickup

Dearborn,MICH,USA -The Detroit News, by Doug Guthrie -June 5, 2012: -- Ford Motor Co. President and CEO, Alan Mulally, helped unveil the 2013 F-150 during a private gathering Monday in Texas for 100 teen-age members of the Future Farmers of America. Updates to the F-150 include exterior styling changes, such as a new grille, and additional tech options... The F-150's look has remained largely unchanged since introduction in 2009, but engine options added last year, including turbocharged V6 EcoBoost engines, have kept the truck the best-selling vehicle in the U.S... 

* Michigan - Chrysler reins in sales of '12 Fiat 500 Abarth 
Auburn Hills,MICH,USA -The Detroit News, by Bryce G. Hoffman -June 5, 2012: -- Just over a month after the first models arrived in U.S. showrooms, Chrysler Group LLC has informed dealers that it is no longer accepting orders for the 2012 Fiat 500 Abarth, according to company sources... The high-performance version of Fiat's diminutive subcompact has been selling as fast as, well, an Abarth. And while customers can still find a few in dealer inventories around the country, those who place orders now will be put on a waiting list for the 2013 model, which is expected to ship this fall...

* DC - Kia recalls nearly 73,000 Rios for air bag problem 
Washington,DC,USA -Associated Press/The Detroit News -June 5, 2012: -- Kia Motors America is recalling nearly 73,000 Rio small cars to fix a problem with the front-passenger air bag... The recall affects cars from the 2006 to 2008 model years. A sensor inside the front passenger seat can crack and fail to detect whether a child is sitting in the seat. This means the air bag can inflate in a crash and hurt the child, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Tuesday on its website... The cars were built between Feb. 20, 2005 and Dec. 9, 2007... Kia will replace the sensor for free starting in July...
