Lipetsk, Russia -GUPTA/Verlag -31 May 2012: -- Yokohama R.P.Z., the tire manufacturing/selling company of Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. in Russia, recently completed the construction of a new passenger car tire plant in the Lipetsk Special Economic Zone in the region of Lipetsk. The opening ceremony on the site was held on May 30, 2012... Yokohama Rubber said that it has been expanding its tire sales in Russia. The number of tires sold in Russia in FY2011 reached approximately 3 million, a 28% increase from the previous fiscal year, and the country is now the fourth largest market for the company after Japan, the United States, and China...
* Mexico - Pirelli boosts investment at Mexican plant
Silao,MEX -Tire Business -May 31, 2012: -- Pirelli Tyre S.p.A. has inaugurated production at its car and light truck tire plant in Silao and is nearly doubling the investment in the plant to $400 million by 2017... The 1.45 million-sq.-ft. plant, under construction since November 2010, will focus on premium segment tires, Pirelli said, including high- and ultra-high-performance tires for cars and SUVs for the domestic and U.S./Canada markets...
