* UK - First new Iveco’s delivered to ALC in UK’s largest ever Trakker deal

London,UK -Your Defence News -Jun 29, 2009: -- Iveco Defence Vehicles has delivered the first specialist 6x6 Trakkers to ALC, an equal partnership created between Amey and VT Land to provide the Ministry of Defence (MoD) with its ‘C’ vehicle fleet, covering its civil engineering and rough terrain mechanical handling capability... The delivery follows the signing of a significant contract with Iveco in November 2008 to supply 206 off-road Trakker chassis and marks the single largest Trakker order ever placed in the UK... It will see the 6x6 heavy trucks fitted with a range of different bodywork to support the ‘C’ vehicle fleet, which comprises all earthmoving plant, Engineer Construction Plant and field Mechanical Handling Equipment in use by the Armed Forces... The first thirty three vehicles supplied will all be Truck Mounted Loader (TML) variants, featuring a Terex rear-mounted lifting arm and Mackworth flatbed body fitted with twist locks to accept 20ft. * Italy - More power and cleaner exhausts for Iveco

Turin,Italy -ATN (Australia) -3 July 2009: -- In the face of ever tougher exhaust emission regulations, Iveco has updated its European Daily light commercial range with upgraded power and torque ratings, as well as offering improved compressed natural gas (CNG) and electric motor versions... With a minimum of Euro 4 compliance, as well as Euro 5 and enhanced envirionmentally friendly vehicles (EEV) compliance on specific models, the base 2.3-litre engine now offers between 71kW and 100kw of power and 240Nm and 320Nm of torque while the larger 3.0-litre V6 engine offers between 107kW and 125kW, with torque outputs between 350Nm and 400Nm... * Australia - Hino dealers in court for 'price fixing' on trucks


Brisbane,QLD,Australia -ATN -2 July 2009: -- The competition watchdog is taking two Queensland truck dealers to court for alleged price fixing and market sharing of Hino vehicles... The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has begun civil proceedings in the Brisbane Federal Court against Vanderfield, Sci-Fleet Motors and three individuals for fixing prices and sharing information on truck sales... Vanderfield sells Hino trucks in Toowoomba and the Gold Coast and Sci-Fleet sells Hino trucks in Brisbane... The ACCC alleges that between about February 2005 and September 2006 Vanderfield, through its then sales managers Bavin Cherry and John McGuinn, and Sci-Fleet, through a sales manager Ross Goodwin, made and gave effect to anti-competitive agreements in relation to the sale of light and medium trucks, in contravention of section 45 of the Trade Practices Act 1974...
