CV registrations * Europe - Continue decline

For the 13th consecutive month, new registrations of commercial vehicles declined in Europe

Brussels,Belgium -HGV (Ireland) -28 June 2009: -- Commercial vehicle registrations in Europe totaled 138,830 units in May a decrease of 39 per cent on the corresponding period in 2008... Five months into 2009, the downturn is 37.6 per cent and affects all countries across all vehicle categories... New heavy truck registrations halved in May compared with the same month last year, with total registrations stalling at 13,342 units... In Western Europe, the downturn ranged from 38.8 per cent in France to 39.9 per cent in Germany, 51.7 per cent in the UK, 55 per cent in Italy and 79.5 per cent in Spain... In the new EU Member States, results dropped even more sharply, by 64.5 per cent in the Czech Republic, 66.2 per cent in Poland and 79.6 per cent in Romania...
