Trucks Inspections * USA - ISP Stepping Up

The Idaho State Police are inspecting as many trucks as possible to crack down on illegal driving

Inkom,Idaho,USA -Local News 8, by Michelle Costa -June 9, 2009: -- ... ISP is funded by the government to inspect a certain number of trucks each year... They need to check out 2,000 trucks by July 1st and they're still about 200 short, meaning they'll be kicking it into high gear... But, some truckers said all the extra inspections have been a nightmare... Truckers are seeing more back-up at the weigh stations, along with more trucks sitting on the sideline, like Tom Ingram's, a 20 year trucker who is anxiously waiting to put the pedal to the metal... Fines for not following the safety rules go from $300 to $1,000... The most common violation is driving too many hours, in which the truck is put out of service until they are within their legal limit... (See Video)
