TRUCKING NEWS * USA - 40 years and still trucking
Forty years and so many miles later, Milton Transportation Inc. is still trucking along
Milton,MASS,USA -The Standard Journal, by Jeff Shaffer -June 8, 2009: -- Ray Bowersox, president of Milton Trans, said smarts and hard work has kept him in business since the company was incorporated on June 13, 1969... It’s good that he’s always carried a lot of confidence because the local business man has seen a number of changes over the years. The most drastic, but positive, was the federal government releasing control through deregulation legislation roughly 10 years after Bowersox started... Vice president Rick Bowersox, Ray’s son, said 200 families in the local area are supported through the jobs provided by Milton Trans... Rick, who’s been with the business for 32 years, recalling his earlier days working part-time in shop at age 13, said he’s happy where the company has gone. Additional growth would be nice, but he’s satisfied just the same... Business has been effected by the slow economy, and Milton Trans is under 120 trucks when it was at 160 in 2003. But rest assured, Milton Trans isn’t going anywhere but on the road, according to Rick...
