Oak Park,MI,USA -PRNewswire -June 9, 2009: -- Forgotten Harvest, Metro Detroit's only mobile food rescue organization, today took delivery of its first hybrid-powered truck. The Class 7 Freightliner, donated by Daimler Trucks North America, Daimler Financial Services and Johnson Refrigerated Truck Bodies, will enable the organization to rescue 850,000 additional pounds of fresh food on an annual basis at a 30 percent fuel savings... * Navistar 2Q Profit Down 94% On Sales Slump

Chicago,ILL,USA -Dow Jones/CNN Money, by Bob Tita -June 09, 2009: -- Navistar International Corp. said the freight industry is taking longer than expected to rebound, as the commercial truck maker slashed its sales outlook for the year and reported 94% reduction in fiscal second-quarter profit... The company predicted Tuesday that industrywide sales of heavy-duty trucks and buses in the U.S. and Canada would fall to a range 165,000 to 185,000 for the company's fiscal year ending Oct. 31... A downturn in the global economy has driven down shipping volumes and kept trucking companies from needing to buy new trucks. Navistar competitor Paccar Inc., whose truck brands include Peterbilt and Kenworth, also reported sharply lower quarterly revenue and income in April and rolled back its projections for truck sales... * Navistar Wants To Build More Heavy-Duty Trucks In Mexico

Chicago,ILL,USA -Dow Jones/WSJournal, by Bob Tita -June 9, 2009: -- Navistar International Corp. said it wants to lower its costs for assembling heavy-duty trucks by shifting more production from Canada to Mexico... Most of Navistar's heavy-duty trucks have been built at the company's Chatham, Ont., Canada plant. But the Illinois-based company said Tuesday it's considering moving some of Chatham's volume to a plant in Escobedo, Mexico, where Navistar's heavy-duty rigs are built for the Mexican market... Navistar Chairman and Chief Executive, Daniel Ustian, said building more trucks in Mexico would better-align Navistar's production operations with the location of its suppliers and trucking companies, making it cheaper to obtain components and deliver new vehicles..


* Two Kenworth Medium Duty Hybrid Trucks To Be Showcased at Hybrid Day on Capitol Hill
