STIMULUS FUNDS * Australia - Truck makers still meeting Govt on buyer finance

Sydneyk,AUST -ATN, by Gary Worrall -9 June 2009: -- With the Australian new truck market continue to languish in the doldrums, the Truck Industry Council (TIC) is working to improve access to finance for potential buyers...While hoped-for initiatives did not appear in the 2009-2010 Federal Budget , TIC CEO, Tony McMullan, says they are continuing to meet with Commonwealth Government officials to state the industry’s case for support... Terry Pennington, TIC’s Chief Technical Officer says the truck industry has not been the recipient of previous government handouts, unlike the car industry, which has seen local manufacturers given significant cash boosts...
