In 1982, Robert Sturgeon founded Sturgeon Truck Lines with thirteen trucks, hauling intermodal freight from Iowa to rail yards in Omaha, Kansas City, and Denver. In 1985, the Company expanded into the common and contract freight business under the name of Barr-Nunn Transportation, and began a rapid expansion of its tractor and trailer fleets, customer base, and geographic footprint. In 1989, Barr-Nunn opened a freight brokerage company to round out its transportation service offering. Over the past 25 years, Barr-Nunn has become a leader in the transportation industry, with a current fleet of nearly 700 late-model tractors, over 1,700 trailers and a work force of over 700 employees and 124 independent contractors...Labels: events
