POSITIVE for the American Trucking Associations * USA: "Trump Truck" Event

* DC - Raising the profile of trucking nationally

--- The American Trucking Assns. brought two trucks to its visit with President Trump at the White House last week. One's trailer featured an American flag, while the other carried a message from the Trucking Moves America Forward program meant to emphasize the importance of trucking and truck drivers to the U.S. economy and everyday life... Now three years in the running, ATA's Trucking Moves America Forward (TMAF) program designs attention-getting trailer wraps intended as "moving billboards" promoting the trucking industry and the role of drivers in keeping the supply chain and economy — and everyday life — moving... Raising the profile and awareness of trucks and trucking among the American people is also part of the plan. It's no small task, with many among the passenger car portion of the motoring public unaware of trucking's critical contributions to the economy and exposed to trucks and trucking as more of an "us vs. them" situation as they encounter and perceive them out on the road...

Brings together show truck ‘family’

Oak Grove,MO,USA -The Trucker, by DOROTHY COX -21 June 2009: -- When show truckers talk about a family atmosphere, helping one another and pulling together, they’re not just blowing smoke. Brad Caton, who came to the 27th annual Shell Rotella SuperRigs truck beauty show here this week to help clean another man’s truck ended up winning $10,000 cash and the show’s coveted Best of Show award with his truck... Despite the heat, high humidity and on-and-off rain, 77 trucks rolled through the judges’ line June 18-20, more than predicted given the tough economy. There would have been more but one truck showed up after the judging closed at noon June 20 and two others dropped out, presumably because they got last-minute loads... As part of the awards ceremony, “American truckers” were given a standing ovation as several hundred truckers and their families applauded their own. It was a fitting end to a contest that’s a tribute to working American trucks and the people who lovingly run them, beautify them, customize them and take care of them... (Picture: "I don’t know what to say; I can’t explain it,” said a flabbergasted Caton (above) after his win June 20. “I just came to clean up Jake’s [truck] and I guess it paid off.” - Brad Caton’s 2007 Peterbilt and 2007 Mac trailer takes top honors in the 2009 Shell Rotella SuperRigs competition, held June 18-20 in Oak Grove, MO. - Photos 2 and 3 by Nikohle Ellis/Land Line Magazine)
