Memphis,TENN,USA -The Daily News, by SARAH BAKER -18 Oct 2010: -- A first-of-its-kind event catering to the transportation and logistics industry is coming to Memphis next weekend... The city’s first annual Trucking Expo will be held Oct. 23 at Agricenter International. It is being presented by Memphis-based Worldwide Transport & Permit Service LLC, a commercial carrier and permitting service... The expo will include a variety of trucking industry experts and vendors, such as carriers, factoring companies, freight brokers, freight forwarders, insurance specialists, truck equipment sales and leasing... With more than 4,000 trucking companies in Memphis, it came as a surprise to Niki Brown, the co-owner of Worldwide Transport, that no one else had thought of the idea first... The “family-oriented” event will include live entertainment, a job fair and industry seminars... The expo’s goal is to generate education and exchange ideas on industry standards, regulations and compliance... The expo will provide a 25 percent discount off of Tennessee base plates, fuel taxes, Unified Carrier Registration (UCR), blanket of coverage (BOC-3) and permits...
