The inaugural TruckWeek event designed to promote the trucking industry has been hailed a success by the peak industry lobby

The Australian Trucking Association says the number of events held from February 21 to 27 succeeded in informing the community about the importance of the industry and the issues it faces in the coming years... The group says the event also educated the public on driving safely around trucks and the different careers available in trucking... ATA Chairman Trevor Martyn says the public now has a better understanding of the industry... The ATA says operators from regional centres in Victoria and Queensland also worked to give community representatives and politicians a better understanding of the trucking industry...
