Springfield,OH,USA -Springfield News Sun (Subscription), by Claire Bushey -3 Aug 2005: -- Officials from Navistar’s Chicago headquarters met with union representatives Tuesday to discuss the Springfield plant’s profitability and the possibility of introducing a new product here... Chief Executive Officer Dan Ustian has committed to making Navistar a $15 billion company by 2014. In pursuit of that goal, he has introduced new product lines, including a heavy-duty truck for the consumer market and an armored vehicle for the U.S. military... Steve Shelton, a staffer for the UAW’s regional office in Dayton, said Navistar wants to boost efficiency in Springfield and lower the cost of producing a truck...
