Safety - USA - Sting in Cloverleaf leaves officials empty and violators with citations.
Channelview,TX,USA -North Channel Sun -08/03/2005 -- Law enforcement officials failed to find contraband or drugs but did give out 183 violations last Thursday near Cloverleaf in a sting operation called Operation Safety... The two-hour operation conducted by the Houston Police Department's Truck Enforcement Unit stopped 34 truckers and inspected their vehicles along Interstate 10 in the Sam's Club parking lot... Regardless, law officers said they conducted a 57-item, level one commercial vehicle safety inspection... Among the violations were the weight and size of cargo, criminal background checks, even low tire pressure. Some trucks had parts missing...
