KESICH -August 4, 2005: -- The Aroostook County truck driver who is blamed for Friday's crash that killed a Scarborough woman on Interstate 95 was ordered off the road less than 24 hours earlier by a state trooper in New York because of broken lights on his truck, police said Wednesday... But, added to the list of Hewitt's known past violations, saying the 32-year-old trucker's license has been suspended at least 19 times... He had been driving since May with a suspended license and since June with a revoked truck registration, Hewitt drove away, evading an enforcement network in Maine and other states that was created to keep dangerous trucks and truckers off the highways... Inez Connolly, Scott Hewitt's grandmother, says many men in the area work as truck drivers because there are few other options. "There is nothing up here," she says. "Nothing in this vicinity." ...
