SCANIA's NEWS * France - Plays diversity: Biogas, biodiesel, ethanol and synthetic diesel

Scania France brings to market several Euro 6 technologies

-- Scania Trucks with engines at natural gas (CNG), biomethane, biodiesel, the synthetic diesel and bioethanol... Unprecedented technological choices validated by experience gained in coaches and buses in search of business opportunities in the transportation of goods... In 2016, Scania France (subsidiary of the Volkswagen group), expects sales of 200 new trucks in gas (CNG and LNG), tractor and carrier versions, 280 and 340 hp, with the 9-liter engine, pending a more powerful truck with the engine 13 liters currently in testing... Indeed, Scania combines in its catalog trucks running on biomethane (280 and 340 hp), biodiesel (from 320 to 580 hp), the synthetic diesel and bioethanol (280 hp), all with Euro 6. This fuel called ED95, which contains 95% ethanol and 5% additives, is authorized since January 19, 2016 by the MEDDE (see OJ 4 February 2016)... Last year, Scania has registered 4,355 trucks, up 20.2% from 2014, with a penetration of 11.8% confirmed the first two months of 2016... Scania France has a large factory in Angers, which produced 10,800 trucks last year, one third for the French market... In a context of rising market share in Europe (16.5% in 2015), the production rate will increase from 56 to 64 trucks per day, in this factory which has more than 520 employees. In France, the brand claims a total fleet of nearly 31 000 trucks, with a middle age of 4.5 years...
