* Sweden - Volvo Trucks' Drivers' Fuel Challenge
Stockholm,Sweden -The Auto Channell (UK) -Sept. 12, 2014: --- A total of 23 drivers from almost the same number of countries will be taking part in Volvo Trucks' Global Drivers’ Fuel Challenge Final on September 19th, where they will be competing against each other to find out who can drive most fuel-efficiently. The competition is the only one of its kind which is open to all drivers, regardless of the make of truck they drive... The 23 finalists were selected after several tough qualifying rounds held throughout the world during this spring and summer... During the competition the drivers will be assessed on the basis of four different criteria, all of which influence fuel consumption. These include driving and braking, the use of the engine and gearbox and the ability to meet deadlines and to follow traffic regulations. All the drivers will be competing in brand-new Volvo FH trucks equipped with I-Shift automated gearboxes...

Emene,Enugu,Nigeria -Nairaland Forum, by kmariko -Sep 10, 2014: -- Nigeria's Anambra Motor Manufacturing Company (ANAMMCO), located in Emene, Enugu, which has been moribund for several years, is being recalled to life by an assembly contract agreement it signed with Transit Support Services (TSS) Limited... Sequel to the contract, TSS has acquired an assembly line in ANAMMCO and is set to commence full-scale heavy duty and articulated trucks assembly operations next month (October), a move that is expected to see the production of 100 trucks per month in the first phase... Industry watchers say the commencement of assembly operations at ANAMMCO will lead to the revival of local component manufacturers in areas such as automotive batteries, lubricants, windscreen, clutch cables, mudguards, wiper blades, brake pads, automobile paints, component for tyres, etc...
