* Idaho - Senate gives thumbs up to plan to allow larger trucks

Boise,ID,USA -Fleet Owner -Mar. 11, 2013: -- The Idaho State Senate has backed a plan aimed at allowing trucks up to 129,000 lbs. on more miles of Idaho roads... The plan is backed by the Idaho Trucking Assn. that said allowing larger trucks on more state highways will lower shipping costs and boost the state’s economy... In a 22-13 vote, the Senate agreed to allow big trucks on more of the state’s roads, provided local highway districts agree based on criteria set by the Idaho Transportation Dept... Since 2003, Idaho has allowed 129,000-pound trucks on select southern routes...
