* Tennesse - New aero devices feature “aircraft” design features 

Nahsville,TN,USA -Fleet Owner -Mar. 11, 2013: -- Aerodynamic device maker DieselMisers has tapped into the design characteristics of aircrafts for its new aerodynamic devices... DieselMisers produces the Kodiak AeroCurtain trailer side skirt. During the 2013 Technology and Maintenance Council’s annual meeting this week, the company announced that its Kodiak AirPlow and Kodiak Bumper Bullet are now in full production... The devices feature a common shape – the shape of the leading edge of an aircraft wing – and promise to bring significant fuel savings, improved roadhandling stability, and California CARB/EPA SmartWay compliance – all in a system designed to be less susceptible to damage and lighter than traditional trailer skirts, the company said... The AirPlow is an “airflow management device” that installs on the underside of a trailer in front of the tandem axles...


* Tennessee _ ATDynamics receives EU approval for TrailerTail aero device

Nashville,TN,USA -Fleet Owner -Mar. 11, 2013: -- ATDynamics announced that it has received European Union approval for a version of its TrailerTail rear-drag aerodynamic device... The company made the announcement at the American Trucking Assns.’ Technology and Maintenance Council’s 2013 Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition. The European version of the device is called the TrailerTail Eco 50... Approval of the devices was needed since they exceeded trailer length requirements in many of the 27 countries that make up the EU... The TrailerTail Eco 50 it collapses easily and completely against the rear of a semi-trailer and acts as a trailer door buffer in its collapsed state, the company said. The TrailerTail Eco 50 has the ability to save over 2% fuel savings at highway speed and is compatible with all major European trailer brands...
