* Indiana - Cummins first to meet 2014 EPA hurdle
Columbus,IND,USA -Land Line Magazine -11 Oct 2012: -- Indiana-based diesel engine maker Cummins Inc. reports it’s become the first truck engine maker to win EPA certification for meeting 2014 fuel efficiency and greenhouse gas rules... The company reports the certification is for its ISX15 engine, which it says will get up to 2 percent better mileage than current models with no major hardware changes. The 2014 standards require that emissions of oxides of nitrogen and particulate matter be near zero... The new greenhouse and fuel-efficiency regs will be required for all heavy-duty diesel and natural gas engines beginning January 2014...
