* California - ATDynamics upping investment in rear-drag aero tech

Las Vegas,NEV,USA -Fleet Owner -Oct. 8, 2012: -- Side fairings for intermodal container chassis and a lower-cost line of side fairings for both dry van and refrigerated trailers were introduced this week by Aerofficient at the American Trucking Association's annual conference, being held in Las Vegas this year... Jim Reiman, Aerofficient’s CEO, said his company’s new intermodal chassis fairings feature a patent-pending design to help them withstand damage when a container is being loaded onto a chassis, with the top of the fairing able to flex and bend to absorb the shock of an imperfect loading operation... The firm’s new line of fairings for dry van and refrigerated trailers – called "Aerofficient Basic" – feature the exact same geometry, panels and attachment clamps its current fairing offering, lacking only the hinge...

Las Vegas,NEV,USA -Fleet Owner -Oct. 9, 2012: -- According to SmartTruck, its newest trailer aerodynamic system is designed for 28-ft pup trailers and will deliver fuel savings of up to 9%. The new aero device was announced here at the annual ATA Management Conference and Exhibition... The system includes an aero rain guard for the top rear edge of the trailer, a nose system for the front of the trailer, side fairings, and a forward UnderTray for use on straight-frame pup trailers. Different systems are available for both straight frame and drop frame pup trailers...

The remote-controlled Super Mutt Deluxe is aimed at identifying the most common CSA roadside inspection violations. It guides a technician through 91 critical points of inspection and placing a load on the trailer’s electrical circuits to identify wiring problems, often missed during routine inspections, IPA said...
