* North Caroline - 100 Mack Granite Models Ordered to Fulfill U.S. Army Contract

Greensboro,NC,USA -Mack Trucks (PR) -August 21, 2012: -- Mack Trucks announced today that Mack Defense will supply West-Mark, a leading manufacturer of liquid transportation equipment, with 100 Mack Granite models to fulfill a delivery order under a contract with the U.S. Army Contracting Command in Warren, Mich... West-Mark is producing water and fuel tanker trucks that the Army will use to support Iraq, Afghanistan and other countries’ security forces during their rebuilding efforts. The Mack Granite trucks built for this order will support the Iraqi Ministry of Defense. The order will be fulfilled by January 2013 and is worth approximately $14.5 million, including spare parts...

Auburn Hills,MICH,USA -The Detroit News, by Doug Guthrie -August 25, 2012: -- The 2013 Ram 1500 pickup will be the first American-built vehicle to offer hands-free voice responses to text messages... The new pickup uses a computer-generated voice to read received text messages aloud. Connecting to a separate "cloud-based" server, the driver can then vocally dictate a response... The message is voiced back to the driver and, upon vocal approval, it is sent through a Bluetooth-connected cellphone as text... The truck offers several new features, including fuel-saving aerodynamics, optional air-ride suspension and an eight-speed automatic transmission that is controlled with an unusual gear selection knob on the dashboard... The Ram 1500 pickup, whose four-door models are built in Warren, will be in dealerships by the end of September. Ram's two-door trucks are built in Mexico...
