* USA - Ford recalls 13,000 chassis over transmission issue

Washington,DC,USA -The Detroit News, by David Shepardson -February 8, 2012: -- Ford Motor Co. is recalling more than 13,000 chassis used in motorhomes and commercial vehicles because of transmission cables that may break... The Dearborn automaker said it is recalling some 2011-12 F-53 and F-59 stripped chassis that were built at its Detroit Chassis Plant... The "PRNDL" indicator cable may break at the attachment to the transmission control assembly mounted on the steering column. If the cable breaks, the transmission gear indicator in the "PRNDL" display in the instrument cluster remains in the first gear regardless of gear selected... Ford said that it is not aware of any crashes or injuries related to the issue... The recall includes 13,239 in the United States - and 300 more throughout North America...
