Lyon,France -Solutrans -21 Nov 2011: -- Six medium-duty hybrid distribution trucks from Europe’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers will be tested by expert trucking journalists attending the SOLUTRANS exhibition... The event has been organised by the International Truck of the Year (ITOY) jury, a group of 24 commercial vehicle journalists representing 24 countries throughout Europe...Hybrid trucks, along with better driver training, improved logistics and vehicle routing, alternative fuels and intelligent traffic management systems have an important part to play in helping to lower the CO2 ‘footprint’ of the European road transport industry a key issue facing the European Union over the coming decade...
