* COMMENT: Evolution of road transport flows in Europe, the winners come from the East
Brussels,Belgium -Truck and Business, by Claude Yvens -14 Nov 2011: -- The last moment statistics on transport volumes in Europe confirms that the road has not yet recovered its level of activity before the crisis, but shows most vividly how the fleets of central Europe are the ascendancy of fleets of Western Europe... It fact, it seems, say whatever you want the numbers. And even more statistics. Those compiled by the Directorate General 'mobility and transport' of the European Commission and relating to the year 2010 are no exception, but they still contain a lot of truths that corroborate the feeling of most Belgian carriers... Let's talk about the pie. In 2010, no mode of transport has been able to find the volume of activity that was his before the crisis. As regards road transport, a decrease of 2% in 2008 was followed by a 10% drop in 2009. The recovery observed 3% in 2010 then left the transport volumes 9% below the 2007 level. At this level, a first difference is found between the residual deficit recorded by the carriers of Western Europe (EU15, 13%) and progression of the carriers of the new member countries (EU12, 8%)... These figures hide it a real empowerment of vehicles registered in the new member countries, who are now on their own 48% of transport (this figure was only 32% in 2005) and even 74% ... operations 'cross-trade', that is to say, transport operations between two European countries which neither is the country of registration of the vehicle. This type of international transport is also strong growth (+ 50% compared to 2005)...

Bonn,Germany -Truck and Business, by Claude Yvens -16 Nov 2011: -- The platform is the first Aartselaar DHL Express network to own a fleet composed entirely of natural gas vehicles. They received six new Mercedes Sprinter NGT, bringing to 20 the number of such vehicles, and has been equipped with a refueling facility specific. All of its transport is carried out with gas, that successful pilot projects launched in 2008, both of perfiormances and consomamtion as reliability... " DHL intends to make good use of its position as market leader. That's why we take the risk of betting on CNG, "said Danny Van Himst, Managing Director of DHL Express Belgium. " We believe it is the only way to resolve the problem of the egg and the chicken is currently hindering the development of alternative fuels. "
* Germany - Dachser full of ambition in Belgium to 2012
Kempten,Germany -Truck and Business (Belgium), by Claude Yvens -18 Nov 2011: -- The German Dachser will develop several major projects on the Belgian market in 2012. The largest project will affect the agency Willebroek, explains Frans Van Bedaf, the Branch Manager: "This site, extended in 2002, reached its maximum capacity and allows for no extension. He also suffers from a serious lack of maneuvering space for vehicles. We will have to move in early 2013 a new platform which should remain in the region of Willebroek. We are currently negotiating with two property owners" ... In addition, the agency will host a new Mouscron complementary activity on 1 January: Cargoplus a service that will process large volumes, with 12 new jobs at the end...
