Serious road damage can come from recurring use by overweight trucks, and with the anticipation of gas drilling coming to Broome County, legislators are working on a local law to protect county roads... Since the county can't target a specific industry, hauling permits will be required for all vehicles that exceed the weight and dimensional limits of the road...
