TRUCKS PURCHASE * USA - Penske Orders 750 Freightliner SCR Trucks
Reading,PEN,USA -Transport Topics -3 May 2010: -- Penske Truck Leasing has ordered 750 Freightliner Cascadia trucks with selective catalytic reduction technology, making the manufacturer the majority supplier of 2010 tractors to Penske, Freightliner said... The order includes 113-inch single-axle day cab tractors, 125-inch tandem-axle day cab tractors and 125-inch tractors with 72-inch raised roofs, Freightliner said... Smithfield,NSW,Australia -ATN -May 4, 2010: -- Smithfield-based company Liebherr Australia will add more Hino products to its fleet following the success of the purchase of a ‘built-to-go’ model from the Hino range... Liebherr Australia purchased the Hino 716 Steel Ace to service bulldozers within the company... A spokesperson for Hino Australia says the new built-to-go series offer operators custom options... The new Steel Ace model runs a 110kW common-rail turbo diesel engine producing 397Nm of torque... The six-speed manual transmission features the Hino Easy Start system that electronically maintains braking force, even after the driver's foot is taken off the brake pedal... * Tropicana adds hybrid trucks in Chicago area
Chicago,ILL,USA -Fleet Owner -May 4, 2010: -- The Tropicana division of PepsiCo has added two diesel-electric hybrid Peterbilt trucks to its downtown Chicago operation. The medium-duty vehicles will be leased through Paccar Leasing (PacLease)... The vehicles are expected to reduce fuel consumption by 35% and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by an equivalent amount... The two trucks also include a hybrid refrigeration unit from Kidron.
