CNG Trucks * USA - One Test Is Plenty For Two San Pedro Bay Ports
Long Beach,CA,USA -The Cunningham Report - -20 Sept 2008: -- The Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach will split the cost of one compressed natural gas truck in order to test the alternative-fuel vehicle in port drayage service through the ports' joint Technology Advancement Program... Together, the ports will spend $223,155 to buy the CNG-fueled, heavy-duty truck equipped with an 8.9 liter Cummins ISL-G engine that meets U.S. 2010 EPA emissions standards... Cal Cartage will demonstrate the truck in its short and medium haul operations between the ports, Wilmington, Ontario and San Bernardino for one year. Partners in the pilot program include the Southern California Gas Co., which has committed to purchasing two additional trucks with its own money and funding from the South Coast Air Quality Management District...
