To date, the stories suggesting either or both US companies are interested in acquiring Netherlands-based TNT have been long on speculation and short on facts or public confirmation from any of the parties concerned. However, it is very likely that the rumours do have some substance. So the big questions are − what is the likelihood of any such deal eventually happening and what would be the logic behind it?... Certainly, the topic has been discussed for a number of years. The trigger for that was the problems TNT encountered between 2000 and 2006.
