Driving Simulator * USA - A thrill ride for truckers
Newington,CT,USA -The Waterbury Republican American (Waterbury,CT), by Mac Silvestrini -February 18, 2008: -- Lou Little emerged from the truck-driving simulator with the look of a man who was not quite sure how to describe the experience... Little, a Vernon resident, is a truck driver for Stamm Construction Co. of Newington. He had just emerged from an L-3 TranSim VS IV Driver Trainer Simulator, which essentially is a flight simulator modified to simulate driving a truck... The simulator can replicate a number of different truck transmissions and engine models, plus a variety of tire sizes and axle configurations. It can also replicate just about any driving condition or environment imaginable, and teach drivers how to respond to just about any emergency... The driving simulator is used by construction and trucking compaines and local government agencies interested in assessing and training their truck drivers)
