Transportation Minister Donna Cansfield says big rigs will soon be travelling more slowly along Ontario highways

The Ontario government is making it mandatory for all large commercial vehicles to use speed limiters, Cansfield said in an interview... A speed limiter is a built-in microchip that can preset a truck's top speed... "In essence, all large commercial vehicles will require that there's a mandatory speed limiter which would mean that they would not go in excess of 105 km/h," Cansfield said... The reason for capping the speed five kilometres above most speed limits is to give truckers the opportunity to pass slower vehicles, she said...
