San Jose,CA,USA -The San Jose Mercury News, by John Woolfolk -1 July 2007: -- The haulers have spent nights and weekends practicing with their new trucks, getting to know the state-of-the-art equipment and their reconfigured collection routes. Extra staff members and backup equipment are at the ready... So with the trucks rolling out at 5:30 a.m. Monday, officials at the three companies taking over garbage, recycling and yard waste collection for most San Jose homes are confident they've done everything they can to make it a smooth transition...
