* USA - New generation of truckers - Married couples at or near retirement age say they love the freedom of the road, as long as they can share it
Hull,Iowa,USA -The Sioux County Index, by Jeanne Visserfor -Jan 03, 2007: -- Their picture has been on the front page of the St. Paul Pioneer Press and soon they’ll be seen nationwide on ABC’s Good Morning America. Even though Jim and Anita Kray, from Boyden, are a little awed by the attention, the two are very willing to talk about their occupation as truck drivers... Actually, the Krays are driving-partners, sharing time behind the wheel as they haul freight for FedEx in a 2006 465-horsepower Volvo diesel truck... Jim, 63-years of age, and Anita, 57-years-of-age, are being portrayed as an example of the new breed of truckers... Faced with a shortage of drivers, the trucking industry is recruiting from the graying ranks of AARP, especially married couples...
