Infraestructures - Australia - National highways fail AAA audit test

Australia -SupplyChain Review -3 Oct 2006: -- Half of the nation’s major highways aren’t up to scratch, a new review has found... The Australian Automobile Association (AAA) has rated AusLink routes with its five-star system. The majority received three stars, sub-standard according to AAA Executive Director Lauchlan McIntosh... "Our highways, which link the capital cities and freight terminals, carry millions of people and goods every day for work, business or pleasure — these national roads are the lifeblood of Australia's transport system — and a three-star rating is simply sub-standard," he says... Only 47 percent of roads were rated four-star, and there were no significant stretches of highway with five-star ratings...
