Recall - USA - Ford recalls Louisville-made trucks, SUVs
Louisville,KY,USA -Business First of Louisville -4 Aug 2006: -- Ford Motor Co. has expanded its 2005 recall of nearly 5 million pickups and sport utility vehicles to include 1.2 million more vehicles, including some that were manufactured at Louisville's two Ford plants... The reason for last year's recall involved the speed control deactivation switch, which could corrode and overheat, and possibly catch fire, according to a letter to vehicle owners from Ray Nevi, assistant director of Ford's automotive safety office... Vehicles from that recall included 1994-2002 Ford F-150s, 1997-2002 Ford Expeditions, 1998-2002 Lincoln Navigators and 1994-1996 Ford Broncos equipped with factory-installed speed control...
