Opposite - Canada - Trucking Association not feeling the need for speed
Winnepeg,Manitoba,Canada -CJOB, by Brett Megarry -July 5, 2006: -- The provincial government wants to raise the speed limit on up to a dozen of Manitoba's highways from 100 to 110 kilometres an hour... Manitoba Trucking Association general manager Bob Dolynik isn't too keen on the idea... Dolynik adds that higher speeds will bring more greenhouse gas emissions, as well as higher costs. He says the 10 km/h increase would add an extra 8,000 litres in fuel consumption per truck...
