Remedy - USA - Truckers seek bottleneck
ALEXANDRIA, Va.,USA -UPI -Feb. 2, 2006: -- Highway bottlenecks across the nation cost U.S. trucking companies $7.8 billion in 2004, a study for the Federal Highway Administration says... The traffic delays idled trucks for more than 243 million hours... The study said the worst bottlenecks were in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas-Fort Worth, Denver, Columbus, and Portland, Ore... The report says increased congestion is hitting the trucking industry at a time when the economy is relying on trucks to haul more goods... The study by Cambridge Systematics, in association with the Battelle Memorial Institute, is an opening shot in the campaign to do something about the bottleneck problem...
