* India - Scania CV India rolls out its 1000th truck from the Narasapura plant
-- Scania Commercial Vehicles India rolled out its 1000th truck from the Narasapura plant near Bangalore... The premium truck and engine manufacturer is the first truck maker in India to deliver 200 P 410 (8x4) mining tippers to BGR in March 2015, making it India’s largest single order to date. Another milestone is the certification of the R 580 as the first on-road puller in India; the R 580 with a V8 engine is the most powerful truck in the country. Other products that Scania manufactures in India include G 410 (6x2) tipper, G 460 (6x4) truck... Scania CV India has a current production capacity of 2,500 trucks and 1,000 buses, and aims to double its capacity by 2020 with a target of selling 5,000 trucks and 2,500 buses annually. In the next five years, the company plans to expand its employee pool to 1,200 people at this facility...

** Sweden - Volvo deliveries rise 3% in August
-- Swedish truck maker Volvo AB said Thursday deliveries rose 3% in August, compared with the same month a year earlier, as growth in Europe and North America offset falling deliveries in South America and Asia... Volvo said it delivered a total of 12,116 vehicles in August, which was slightly lower than the 12,299 vehicles analysts polled by SME had expected... It said deliveries rose by 28% in Europe and by 13% in North America, while deliveries in Latin America and Asia fell by 43% and 8%, respectively...

*** France - Renault ute will be called Alaskan
-- The showroom version of Renault's inaugural one-tonne ute will be called the Alaskan when it arrives in Australia in 2017, but its interior won't be significantly different to the Nissan NP300 Navara on which it's based... Speaking at the Frankfurt motor show, Renault design chief Laurens van den Acker confirmed the name of the Alaskan pick-up concept will carry through to production... The French car-maker's global design boss said the dual-cab ute – which will be available in other styles and features unique sheet metal from the windscreen forward, fresh headlights and tail-lights, a tough Renault-badged grille and front bumper and a new tailgate – won't bring a bespoke interior...
