Houston,TXS,USA -The Chron, by Dane Schiller -11 Nov 2014: -- An American trucker clashed with the Border Patrol in South Texas as he refused to answer a question about his citizenship. An agent at a highway checkpoint near the town of Falfurrias asked if he was a U.S.A. citizen. The trucker said he did not have to answer the question as he had done nothing wrong... The American truck driver who challenged the U.S. Border Patrol in Texas over whether he was obligated to answer their questions about his citizenship ended up having his window smashed out by agents who pulled him from the cab and arrested him... The truck driver, who was recently arrested at the Border Patrol highway checkpoint near the town of Falfurrias- about 60 miles north of the borderline – was video recording as he pulled up and declined to answer agent’s question about whether he was an American citizen... The trucker declines. The glass is smashed. The Border Patrol had no immediate comment and the trucker could not be reached. His company said it had no employee by the name Thomas Sauer. And there are no publicly available federal court papers that indicate anyone has been charged at the check point recently with impeding agents or refusing to answer their questions... UPDATING: A Border Patrol spokesman said Wednesday that agents arrested a man Nov. 4 for allegedly impeding them at the checkpoint. He declined to release the man’s name... The U.S.A. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas, which includes the Border Patrol checkpoint, said no charges have been filed thus far in federal court...
