* California - Toyota recalls Tundra CrewMax trucks
Los Angeles,CAL,USA -The Los Angeles Times, by CHARLES FLEMING -11 Sept 2014: -- Toyota Motor Sales has issued a recall for 130,000 of its 2014 Tundra CrewMax cab and Double Cab trucks... The vehicles may be equipped with the "center pillar garnish," a plastic interior panel, that if improperly installed could impede the deployment or proper function of a side impact airbag... Toyota said it is not aware of any crashes, injuries or fatalities caused by the defect... The company is contacting owners of the affected vehicles directly, and will inspect or replace the improperly installed parts...
* Alabama - Altec recalls digger Derrick Trucks for winch drum
Birmingham,ALA,USA -Automotive Fleet -September 10, 2014: -- Altec Industries is recalling 67 2010-2012 model-year D2000 and D3000 boom tip winch digger derrick trucks because of faulty winch drums... The recall affects trucks equipped with winch units manufactured by Tulsa Winch Group (formerly Gear Products). The winch drums might deform or fracture, posing a safety risk, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported... Altec dealers will inspect and replace the winch drum if necessary, free of charge...
