* Australia - Mitsubishi Fuso Canter trucks recalls

* Victoria / Australia - Applies to the Euro 5 trucks sold between March 2011 and October 2012

Mulgrave,VIC,Australia -ATN -July 5, 2013: -- Almost 2,500 Mitsubishi Fuso Canter trucks have been recalled by supplier Mercedes Benz Australia/Pacific... A notice has been issued by Product Safety Recalls Australia, part of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission... The notice applies to the Euro 5 trucks sold between March 25, 2011 and October 18, 2012... “It is possible that the park brake lever lock nut has not been correctly tensioned,” the notice says. “This may result in damage to the park brake cable. If the defect occurs this may result in the park brake not holding the vehicle securely. This may pose a hazard to the driver and other road users” ...  The notice says a letter will be sent to affected owners... 


* Russia - Daimler may up Kamaz stake to secure foothold in Russian market

* Mumbai / India - Mahindra Truck and Bus business to merge into M&M Ltd.

G. M. Bhosale Marg,Worli,Mumbai,India -CarDekho -14 ago, 2013: -- Mahindra & Mahindra has renamed its truck and bus division, Mahindra Navistar Automotive Ltd. as Mahindra Trucks and Buses Ltd. (MTBL), which is a wholly owned subsidiary and part of the US $16.2 billion Mahindra Group. Subject to regulatory approvals, the company also intends to demerge its trucks and buses operations from MTBL into Mahindra & Mahindra to derive greater synergies. It also announced plans to invest Rs 200 crores to further strengthen its existing product line up and start exploratory work for new product lines that could lead to further capital infusion of over Rs. 300 crores in due course... Mahindra Trucks and Buses Ltd. has also announced new branding for its heavy commercial vehicle range. The multi-axle trucks will now be called Mahindra TRUXO 25 and TRUXO 31; Tractor Trailers will be called Mahindra TRACO 35 and TRACO 40; and the tippers will be called Mahindra TORRO 25 and TORRO 31...

* Czech Republic - Ashok Leyland’s Prague unit to stop production

Chennai,India -The Hindustan Times/MINT, by Arundhati Ramanathan -Jul 15 2013: -- Avia Ashok Leyland Motors will cease production from the end of this month at its Letnany plant... Avia Ashok Leyland Motors, a subsidiary of truck maker Ashok Leyland Ltd, has said it will stop the production of trucks at its Prague unit citing the global economic slowdown...
