* Japan - Isuzu Truck signs up to 1link Service Network
Minami-Oi,Shinagawa-ku,Tokyo,Japan-Transport Engineer, by John Challen (UK) -1 Feb 2013: -- Isuzu Truck (UK) has signed up to the 1link Service Network e-commerce platform... States Tony Parker, repair and maintenance manager at Isuzu Truck: "All service and maintenance transactions can now be managed online, and dealers are given access to key information covering parts access, repair time and service job data" ... The company says it undertook extensive research into systems available before selecting 1link, seeing it as "an ideal fit to allow Isuzu to administer the repair and maintenance packages that its customers can select on their vehicles"...
* France - Mid-life facelift for Renault Kangoo
Paris,France -Fleet Van, by Simon Harris -1 Feb 2013: -- Renault's Kangoo van will get a fresh new look from June, along with improved efficiency and new technology... The revised Kangoo has a bolder front-end, with new light clusters and a different grille design but the improvements should also mean lower running costs for fleet operators... To help drivers reduce their fuel consumption further still, the latest-generation engines available for Kangoo come with a gear shift indicator as standard equipment, as well as an ECO mode that can achieve fuel savings of up to 10% by acting on engine torque, the gear shift indications and accelerator pedal mapping... Too, incorporates the in-dash TomTom Live navigation previously available for Phase 1 Kangoo, plus numerous new functions, such as advance warning of hazardous zones and the ability to download applications like the reading out of e-mails... Also available is new electronic stability combined with Hill Start Assist, plus Grip for improved traction in difficult conditions...
