* Sweden - Scania slows orders fall as Brazil offsets Europe gloom 

,Sweden -Reuters, by Niklas Pollard / Helena Soderpalm / Johannes Hellstrom and Sophie Walker -Oct 22, 2012: -- Truckmaker Scania posted better than expected order bookings in the third quarter as signs of recovery in Brazil helped offset lingering weakness in Europe, its biggest market... Analysts had expected a 14 percent fall in bookings but Scania, majority owned by German group Volkswagen, said order bookings of its trucks and buses fell 10 percent in the third quarter... Truck makers rely on highly cyclical demand for heavy-duty commercial vehicles, which has been hit by the global economic slowdown ensuing from the European sovereign debt crisis... Scania however struck an upbeat note on Brazil, one of its top markets, where sales have been boosted by government subsidies encouraging customers to buy new, greener trucks...


* Russia - China to launch trucks assembling line at Russia's ZIL plant

Moscow,Russia -RT -22 October, 2012: -- Chinese automaker Dong Feng is reportedly planning to start assembling trucks at the ZIL factory by as early as next year... ZIL have been making trucks for almost 90 years, and became more famous for building the luxury limousines used by Soviet leaders... Dong Feng is interested in local production in Russia and is negotiating with several potential partners, including in Moscow region... The move could help revitalize production at Russia’s truck maker... At the moment GAZ Group is the biggest truck maker with 47.3% of the Russian market. KAMAZ and ZIL are ranked the 2nd and the 3rd biggest...


* France - DHL selects Kangoo electric 

Paris,France -Fleet Europe, by Tim Harrup -11 Oct 2012: -- Renault has announced a further success for its all electric small van, the Kangoo Z.E. by 2015, the manufacturer is to supply an initial quantity of 50 of these models to DHL France, with the final size of the order depending on needs...  Renault and DHL already work together, DHL supplying the logistics for battery shipments to Z.E. (Zero Emissions) centres throughout France. The latest order forms part of the DHL GoGreen programme, which is designed to cut the company’s CO2 emissions by 30% by the year 2020. The Kangoo Z.E. was launched a year ago and over 5,000 units have now been sold...


* France - Cloud Computing: Renault Selects HP to manage its electric vehicle telematics 

Paris,France -Fleet Europe, by Filip Van Mullem -12 Oct 2012: -- French carmaker Renault has chosen Hewlett-Packard Utility Services to host its telematics electric vehicles on a remote server. According to HP, this method will allow the manufacturer to benefit from cloud computing capabilities tailored to specific needs and market trends...  The data is stored in a data center located in Grenoble (France)... A set of services already on board of the Kangoo and Fluence ZE, and soon the Zoe, helps the driver to know the level of charge of the battery, find the nearest charging point to obtain data traffic or ask for services...
