* Belgium - Commission to confirm 95 grams by 2020? 

Brussels,Belgium -Fleet Europe, by Tim Harrup -11 June 2012: -- The first leak which may show the levels to be set by the European Commission in the domain of vehicle CO2 emissions, has been reported by the Guardian newspaper and relayed by autoactu. It appears to show that the Commission is to set the average level for passenger cars at 95 grams by 2020, and even lower by 2025. The French website also details that although there are set fines to be paid by manufacturers under the current regulations, no news concerning fines has yet become known for the 2020 figure. Due to be presented in July, this level would represent a decrease of 45% compared to 2007. The current rules oblige manufacturers to decrease average emissions to 130 grams by 2015. According to Jato Dynamics, in 2011 the average level had fallen to just over 136 grams...


* Belgium - The Commission authorizes the international movement of ecocombis


Brussels,Belgium -Truck Business, by Claude Yvens -19 June 2012:   -- The Transport Commissioner, Siim Kallas, has finally confirmed its intention to authorize cross-border movement of ecocombis. It has to do Parliament and provided the board with a new interpretation of Directive 96/53 on weights and measures in road transport. According to the interpretation put forward by Kallas, a Ecocombi may be waived for crossing a border where existing infrastructure permits, and provided that the transport operation takes place between two member states that allow individual ecocombis and that international competition is not thereby 'significantly affected'...   Organizations by carriers against Dutch were the first to welcome the gesture of Siim Kallas...
