* Brazil - Market improves 11.5% on-month

Sao Paulo,SP,Brazil -JPMorgan/ADR, by Paulo Winterstein -June 06, 2012: -- Auto sales continue to slump, but signs of incipient rebound seen after tax cut... Brazil's motor-vehicle sales showed signs of improvement at the end of May after a cut on auto taxes, and should continue to improve in June, Brazilian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Anfavea), said Wednesday, after reporting a drop in sales, output and exports last month.May sales totaled 287,465 cars, trucks and buses, a 9.8% decline from the same month in 2011, Anfavea said. Sales recovered from a weak April, jumping 11.5% and bringing year-to-date sales to 1.36 million vehicles, or 4.8% less than at the same time last year...   

* Argentina - Car production in May  Buenos Aires,CF,ARG -InfoAuto -June 2012:  --  Car Production in Argentina, in May, recorded a rise of 9.9% over April 2012 and a low of 24.4% over the same month last year (May 2011). In total there were, 60,206 units last month. Accumulated in the first five months of 2012 were record low of 10.5% over the same period of 2011. Overall already occurred, 278.815 units...  


* China - New car sales up 22.6pct in May 
Beijing,China -InAutoNews (Rumania) -8 June 2012: -- New car sales in China rose 22.6 percent in May to 1.28 million units from a year earlier, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) said. From January to May, deliveries climbed 5.5 percent to 6.33 million, continuing an uptrend which started in April... 

* Russia - New car sales up 11pct in May 
Moscow,Russia -InAutoNews (Rumania) -8 June 2012: -- New car sales in May rose 11 percent year on year in Russia, the Association of European Businesses (AEB) said on Friday. This May, 260,944 units were sold; this is 25,486 units more than in May, 2011... From January to May, 2012 the percentage sales of new cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia increased by 15% in comparison to the same period in 2011 or by 151,946 more sold units... 

* UK - New car sales up 7.9 pct in May 
London,UK -InAutoNews (Rumania) -8 June 2012: -- New car sales in UK grew by nearly eight per cent in May, according to sales figures issued by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT)... This was the largest percentage increase in registrations for 23 months, which was attributed to a 14.3% increase in private sales... The rise in May brings the 2012 total up to 868,166, which represents a 2.6% increase on the same period in 2011...

* Japan - Market continues to post strong growth in May
Tokyo,Japan -Automotive World, by David Isaiah -June 7, 2012: -- A total of 394,950 passenger cars, trucks and buses were sold in Japan in May, compared with 237,363 units in the same month a year earlier. This translated into year-on-year growth of 66.4%... 

* Germany - May sees 13.5% y-o-y drop in CV registrations 
Frankfurt,Germany -Automotive World -June 07, 2012: -- Germany's commercial vehicle market, which has been fluctuating so far this year, dropped to 26,660 units last month. Compared with May 2011 when registrations of new CVs in the country shot up 38.4% ... 


* Germany: Car market contracts 4.8% in May
Frankfurt,Germany -AutomotiveWorld, by David Isaiah -June 07, 2012: -- New passenger car registrations in Germany declined 4.8% year-on-year in May 2012 to 290,000 units. In the same month a year earlier, the country's automotive industry had posted registrations of 304,000 units...
