* India - Tata Ace mini pick up truck all set to be assembled in Indonesia

Colaba,Mumbai,India -The Hindu Business -10 Feb 2012: -- The Tata Ace mini pick up truck was a pioneering product from Tata Motors as it created an all new segment. Along with that, the Ace went on to become the most successful mini pick up truck in the country even as rivals lined up their own offerings for the Indian market...  After having conquered the Indian market, the Tata Ace is all set to be unleashed in Indonesia... Tata already exports the Ace to many countries across the world and has been assembling the mini pick up truck in Thailand, another key South East Asian market. Now, Tata will begin assembling the Ace in Indonesia. The kits will be shipped from India through the completely knocked down route, after which they will be assembled at an assembly unit in Thailand...


* India - Eicher to set up manufacturing plant near Indore

Indore,Madhya Pradesh,India -Zig Wheels, by Rahul Basu -8 Feb 2012: -- New facility near Indore, Madhya Pradesh will commence production by the 2nd quarter of 2013, and will have a capacity to produce 10,000 buses when fully operational... Instrumental in pioneering and producing the first “Safe School Bus” in India, Eicher’s 25 year stint in India has seen the truck maker grow in leaps and bounds, with a product portfolio that today ranges from 5t to 40t GVW trucks and 21 to 69 seater buses... Since tying up with Swedish bus giant Volvo in 2008 to form the VE Commercial vehicles limited (Volvo Group and Eicher Motors JV), things have only gotten better for the indigenous truck maker and in an effort to further expand its operations in the country, Eicher recently conducted a ground breaking ceremony for its upcoming state-of-the art bus manufacturing plant in Madhya Pradesh... The plant would have robotic processes for bus painting and will be highly mechanized to ensure high quality consistency and productivity. An in-house training centre for the Blue collar workmen has been facilitated to ensure an on-going robust quality system from within the production plant...


* India - AMW enters Desert Storm Rally 2012

New Delhi,India -The Economic Times -Feb 10, 2012: -- Asia MotorWorks (AMW), India's third largest heavy commercial vehicle manufacturer, will become the first truck maker in India to participate in the upcoming 10th annual Desert Storm rally. This over 3,000-km long event is widely considered to be the toughest and most grueling long distance rally raid on the subcontinent. AMW will be entering four specially modified trucks in the 'Ndure' category of this iconic event, which flags off from New Delhi on February 20, 2012, and ends five days later in Ahmedabad. The Ndure category is a controlled speed endurance TSD (Time Speed Distance) test for production vehicles...


* Brazil - China’s Beiqi Foton Motors to modify trucks for sale in

Sao Paulo,SP,Brazil -MacauHub -February 10, 2012: -- Chinese automotive group Beiqi Foton Motors Co. Ltd. plans to modify its trucks to go on sale in Brazil in order to comply with local regulations, specifically in terms of fuel... Thus, the trucks that arrive in Brazil for sale will have engines that have been adapted to run on low-lead diesel produced by Petrobras and the Arla 32 additive, which reduces emissions of some polluting gases... Also Beiqi Foton Motor Co., Ltd. will certify its Foton Aumark trucks using the Euro 5 standard, in order to improve acceptance by Brazilian transport companies...
